Nick Widmer is a narrative strategist, published writer, and New Media native with over a decade of experience helping companies tell their stories in a way that resonates.
He began his career in advertising, building campaigns for brands like Progressive Insurance, Jeep, and MGM Resorts. His writing online — essays on emerging technology, art, and the human spirit — led to roles working for Sam Harris at Waking Up, and eventually to director-level communications work at Wachsman advising companies across fintech, blockchain, and AI.
He started Waymark Comms because the problem kept repeating itself: founders building genuinely important things, unable to articulate why anyone should care. Not for lack of intelligence or conviction — but because nobody had helped them shape the story.
There are no account teams. No junior associates running point. When you work with Waymark, you work directly with Nick.
How we work.
Clarity over hype.
The goal isn't more content. It's a story that holds under pressure, and compounds over time.
Craft as discipline.
Writing is thinking. We take both seriously.
Integrity as filter.
We only work with founders and brands we believe in. That's not a positioning line. It's how we operate.
Restraint over volume.
Less, but better. Always.
On the name.
Along the Camino de Santiago, waymarks appear as scallop shells and yellow arrows — painted on walls, etched into stone, embedded on pavement. These quiet markers have guided pilgrims across Spain for centuries.
